Encaustic is the fine art of painting with molten beeswax that is mixed with coloured pigments and resin. Encaustic paintings seem to light from within – the colours are exceptionally bright because the light does not get reflected from the surface of the painting, but penetrates the different wax layers. The durability of encaustic is due to the fact that the wax is impervious to moisture. Because of this, it will not deteriorate, it will not yellow and it will not darken.
As is life, my portfolio is diverse. I approach my paintings in a spontaneous manner without any preconceived notion of what the final outcome will be. The real goal of my painting is to provide an enjoyable viewing experience; one that is both artistically satisfying and visually stimulating.
